Ok, dumb question but I just picked up a used 2019 1500 Big Horn and when switching from 2wd to any other mode I have to hold the button down for a second or two instead of just pressing it. My buddy's v6 is just a press, curious if this is normal or if something is starting to fail.

Just a quick press (4HI and 4Auto) and the light on the button will blink a couple times as it switches modes. For 4LO you have to stop (or go real slow, like 2 MPH) and shift to N first.

Strange, that's not the case on this truck. It does seem to shift fine after holding it down for a second.

If I'm in 2wd, I also have to hold the 4wd auto button down for 1-2 seconds as well as going to 4hi from 2wd. I did have some flashes done and unsure on what software revision I'm on. I can get that info if needed.

This is exactly how mine operates.

Ended up taking it to the dealership for a couple of other minor issues and they're replacing the switcher, so I guess there is something wrong. Thought I'd share in case you want yours fixed.

Mine switches fine. I don't mind holding the button for a second or so. Prevents accidental shifts. Guess the button delay had to be from the updates.
