Welp, have a leak in radiator on driver's side a few inches below top hose, so will be replacing this weekend with OEM. Judging by the replacement it looks pretty straight forward, with the trans cooling being independent of the rad (far as I can tell). Just wondering if there are any problematic bolts or shortcut steps (removing fans in place first or pull whole unit, etc) from anyone that has done this swap. Wasn't a whole lot of info out there on 5th gen's. TIA!

Never have, but try Youtube. There is a video for almost everything there.

Indeed there usually is, however surprisingly not for 5th gen. At a glance last gen's look pretty similar though. I've done some complicated Japanese units, so having all this room to work is a breath of fresh air 😁

One of my trucks had a 6. You could dance under the hood.

I know this post is a few years old, but assuming you replaced it a long time ago, I was hoping you could shed some light on how easy / difficult it was.

Surprisingly, I have a leak in the exact same spot you did - a few inches below the top hose. I can see it bubbling right there when the engine is running. Wondering if this is a common issue, as I also have a 2019 with the 5.7.

Did you replace all the hoses at the same time? Any issue with those?

All the best,
Glenn
