Sunroof 2 stage opening?

Just got the truck 2 weeks ago. Iv noticed when my Sunroof on the Panoramic roof opens it stops towards the end, i then have to hit the button 1 more time to open it up the rest of the way. Is this normal? Also what purpose does this serve?

The fist stop is a place to reduce buffeting while driving. The second stop is just straight up full open.

I didn't even know that the pano roof could open more than the first position lol... learn something new everyday!
