I am doing a DIY overland slide out. I don't want to go with a bedslide/decked system because that takes up the entire bed. I also want to be able to have room for a small sink, and a kitchen/cooking area. Ideally I want something that just takes up half, or less than half of one side of the bed but every bracket or option I run across is someone doing a slide out for the entire bed.

Does anyone know of a plate or bracket that only attaches to one side of the bed? Or am I going to have to fabricate something myself using the tie down hooks in the bed?

best and most secure way:
drill bed, make base mounting plate, attach said plate to the bed, and build everything you need on top of that.

when you're done with the truck, remove everything, fill the holes, and bedliner the whole thing and no one will ever know it's been drilled.

I have a spray in bed liner already, I'm not familiar with how easy it is to cut through that stuff? Will a hole saw cut through the bed liner and metal?

I was thinking of putting some U bolts around the tow hooks and just tightening it to the two tie downs in the bed.. but I definitely like your idea better lol it sounds more secure!

no need for hole saws bro.
just some grade 8 gold bolts, big washers, and locking nylon nuts will do.
i'd do at least 6 sets of nuts and bolts.

it shouldn't be too hard to drill through with proper technique: pilot holes, etc lol
