Subwoofer system recomended?

I want to upgrade the subwoofe in my truck. I have the crew cab with storage compartment and harmon kardon system. I wanted to put sundown x8s in it but don't think they work. Anyone have recommendations as far as enclosures and subs or just a pop out the stock sub and putting a new one in without much mods??
