Good afternoon,

Is there any way to turn this off permanently? I find it really annoying and I'm no mechanic but I can't believe its good for the starter.

Thanks

If you have eTorque, the starter is not used to restart the engine.
An electric motor spins up the engine using the serpentine.
The transmission fluid is kept pressurized by an accumulator while the engine is stopped.
This implementation of start/stop is the best so far. Butter-smooth restarts.

I agree, I've never been in a vehicle with Start/Stop that is smoother.
