Here's a fast summary of the background: I've had my 2020 ram aligned 15+ times. Truck keeps losing alignment, sometimes within 5 miles of leaving the hunter.

Went to firestone Saturday morning so I could get a lifetime warranty as I've crossed over the 12,000mi initial warranty period. The firestone tech said something that nobody at the dealership (nor myself in fairness) had the brain to mention: steering rack is probably loose. The tech at Firestone drove the truck and said the truck would not keep alignment and the wheel goes off center very easily.

QUESTION: can I access the rack from underneath & check any/all bolts that mount the rack to the subframe?

It's obvious to me that no one here knows the answer to your question. I've never even looked at my steering rack, so I can't help you with that. My question to you is why the dealership isn't taking care of this for you? There is no reason to have to align a new truck more than 15 times unless there is a mechanical problem with the steering system (such as a possible loose steering rack). In which case, your 3/36 b-to-b warranty would come into play. It's obviously not a simple alignment issue. Something doesn't make sense to me.

did you ever get this fixed, if so what was the fix? because i feel lime my truck looses alignment and just gets worse

Im still curious, as I'm having the same problem now. I just had the rack replaced at the dealer. I'm guessing this is my problem as well.

The bolts for the steering rack are very accessible from the bottom of the truck. I'd check the torque, and throw a paint mark where the gear mount meets the crossmember.

If the gear is shifting, the paint mark will tell you the story.
