So I recently purchased a 2022 Ram 1500 with the 5.7 V8 etorque. I was stopped at a light and when I went to go an error popped up saying stop/start malfunction. The check engine light also came on. Also when this happens I have to restart the engine and for some reason this error turns on the parking brake. I went to autozone the next day but the stop/start error was gone and the check engine light was still on. The reader there brought up no codes. Any help would be appreciated. I read else were this could be a weak 48v battery? Is this true or could it be something else.

Plugged in a code reader and got error code P1C64. Still not sure what the exact fix is yet.IMG_1089.jpeg

Gremlins.

Swap in a known good (new) battery. 12V issues can cause all sorts of weird anomalies with newer vehicles. I've gotten the 'auto start/stop unavailable a couple times. Never able to replicate the problem, but haven't had it since I swapped in a new H8 AGM battery. '21 hemi e-torque.

I agree, batteries cause all sorts of weird problems, even though a tester will show good. The automatic parking brake can be turned off, with a setting.

Where is the second battery?

Tell me about it. When I test drove it this feature malfunctioned (stop/start), told the sales guy. He said he was bringing it to the service department after negotiations. when the deal was finallly negotiated after a few days, I was told by the dealership that it was fixed. Come to find out on the drive back it happens again. He clarifies and says they couldn’t replicate the issue. Clearly they didn’t even try…

My 3 yr old original battery was having no issues, showing over 14V while running. But, I swapped it for a new DieHard H7 AGM and the Stop/Start messages and the Engine message are now gone and the truck is running normally. I won't be using the auto stop/start anymore.

When you put the truck in just run or acc mode does the voltage show as a red number or white??

You swapped out the main battery? Or the small battery?
