Squeaky Tail Gate Hinge

Anyone else have a horrendous squeal when their tailgate opens?
My left hinge emits this noise just at the gate is finishing opening and I've tried lithium grease and WD-40 to no avail.
I don't think it's a traditional metal-on-metal squeal. Sounds like softer materials like plastic and aluminum or something like that.

Do you have a license plate frame? Maybe the tailgate is rubbing it at some point in its travel.

My 2020 developed at squeaky noise and all the lube in the world wouldn’t make a difference but found the tailgate assist strut behind the right taillight was bad. Installed a new one and now perfect!

I had a faint squeal. Try silicone spray lube...that fixed the hinge noise for me.
