Hey all,

Newb here on this forum but not to forums or car modding.

Recently picked up a used 22' laramie GT and I absolutely love it and I've set to work adding a few "necessities" lol

One of which being the mopar bed light kit, truck had no bed lights ive got the kit installed myself no biggie gotta get it flashed at the dealer. But, in ADDITION to the mopar bed light kit I picked up a cheaper LED rail kit that I've already ran. My intent was to splice it into the factory mopar kit so they would work together as if they were one.

Now I have the LED rail kit wiring at the drivers side mopar light location. That light fixture has two plugs on it. Each plug has two wires. One with black & beige/violet(pictured on left also goes to the button side of the light) the other black & beige/white(pictured on right). I KNOW from running the mopar kit that the beige/violet goes to the C7 connector and beige/white goes to the C1 connector under the dash.

Without trial and error, i am wondering if anyone is knowledgeable enough to know if I were to tap into either with the LED bed rail kit what the functional outcome would be? Ideally I'd like it to operate the same as the OEM mopar lights would be sacraficially I'd be ok with the LED rail kit only coming on when pressing the button on the MOPAR light on the drivers side light.

Apologies about the long winded post.

TIA!

There are several threads on here about adding bed lights. You should be able to find that info using search.

I would highly recommend getting AlfaOBD and the security stuff and doing the flash yourself. It will be cheaper. And you can use AlfaOBD for many other things.

Tapping into either or both of your factory bed lights, to power additional led lights should be just fine, and will work just like the factory bed lights.
