I recently bought a Spectre Performance 9090 Air Intake Kit off amazon for my 2019 1500 Limited 5.7 MDS, and so far i love it. It sounds great and looks good too. I’ve noticed a little better fuel economy and some top in power. For 230$ it was worth it to me. I think the best part is the sounds when getting on it. It sounds like I got a different exhaust.

I wanted the 77 Series K&N, dyno was 15hp/33tq from K&N, but after seeing the price and availability, I started looking elsewhere. One thing I did was compare installation manuals between K&N and Spectre. I was a SEMA last year and remembered K&N and Spectre had the same booth and I believe are owned by the same company. So after comparing I noticed they looked almost the same. So for half the price I went with the Spectre.

Stock yes, and I will record something soon.

Thanks for posting, can't wait to hear some audio.
If you don't mind, could you post some additional angles from under the hood?

Also, what are your impressions on the build quality overall? Of the box? It appears a little flimsy from the stock photos. Is it assembled, or is it like origami and you add screws to it?
Any impressions on the tube? Thickness, how does it compare to other kits in the past? Does it feel like it might warp or damage easy?

Have you made any notes on milage?

Sorry for the million questions, just I've always been a K&N or AEM kit guy, but the price and rebate are tempting. Again thanks for sharing!

So I have yet to do the audio of it, I did get more pics. The tube is nice and seems strong. Putting together the box was super easy, 12 screws and you don’t need nuts. You use the rubber feet things from your stock box and it snaps right in. The hardest part was taking the sensor out of the factory tube, as i had to use pliers to twist it out. I have had plenty of other CAIs on other cars and this one was the easiest to install.

Stupid question!, how should I do the sound clip? Drive down the road with the windows down and record from the driver seat?

I'd say like drive way idle both inside and outside plus some thomping in the throttle, then maybe a drive-by/drive off acceleration clip both inside and outside... Obviously you might have to enlist help. Just some ideas. ;-)

Looks great! I’m between this and the air aid jr.

I just ordered one from Realtruck.com...$234.99 (plus tax) & free shipping. I will also get the $25 prepaid Visa card. When all is said & done, $225 total...probably the best price for a full CAI for the 5th gen Rams.

Gift card rebate ends today (07/31) btw...

Just installed mine,
Really great for the money, fully happy with it!
