Interesting your's takes some driving. Whenever I've let out some air or refilled when I go offroad, it's updated by the time I get back in the cab, and even does the whole honk when I hit the programmed inflation pressure. I wonder if there's something special about the OEM sensors to make that work (still on stock tires)

Mine have always needed at least half a mile of driving to display current pressure and not what it was when I shut it off last. Or maybe it's a certain amount of time. In my case, it's to the end of the street and around the corner but before the light. It's faster to update than the outside temperature!

That's how I was under the impression it worked. So I was pleasantly surprised (for a change) by the way my truck behaved in that regard. Wonder if it also has something to do with my only paying that close attention when I'm out in the middle of no where, so there's no interference to contend with.
