I recently changed to 285/55R22 Mickey Thompson. I realized that the spare was now smaller and It is a 4wd and has limited slip. I replaced the spare with a used 285/75R18 duratrac. I believe they are close in size, but could be a little bigger, but the tread is at 8/32. Will this hurt the limited slip? Obviously for emergency use only.

I think you should be fine.
Your limited slip does not have conventional pre-loaded clutches, it only kicks in when "giving it the beans" so to speak.

I agree. You should be fine. It is true the new version of the limited slip works more like an auto locking differential in that it is basically open until enough torque is applied through slippage to engage it.
