Not sure if this is actually normal, it may have been there the whole time and only now I'm focused on it, but I notice a sound from the rear of my truck when putting the transmission in reverse, its a mild "ting" or very low "clink" sound, almost like the differential has some slack that is being taken up.

This sound only happens when reversing out of the driveway for the first time of the day, or if left sitting a bit while running errands. However, if try to do it again immediately, such as putting it back in park and then reverse again, it won't do it. I have to let it sit a bit. No issues when driving, everything seems fine and smooth.

Wondering if anyone else notices something similar? Honestly, it could always have been there, I'm sure I've owned other autos in the past that did that, I just don't remember this truck doing it.

My truck has had an occasional clunk from day one, caused by slack in the differential.
In my case it is not temperature related, just the way the drive-line happens to load up some times.
