(2020, 8.4" Unit).
just went through the troubleshooting with a replacement USB Hub from Mopar. There are two USB-Mini cables, one is enclosed in a black connector, the other in a grey connector. The grey connector is the main data, the black one is either just 5V power or USB hub output to the rear unit, not sure.
Anyway, before physically swapping the USB hubs in the center console I connected the replacement unit with the cables. I got the same Device not Supported error, but only when the grey connector was plugged in. When I had the main multipin connector and the black USB plugged in the hub charges the phone and the screen does not throw the the Device not Supported error.
The same behavior happened when I plugged the original USB hub back in. No grey cable, no error message. Charging works fine.
So, the issue is sometimes with the head unit.
It seems that I spent 100 dollars for nothing, but that would be the charge to just evaluate what's wrong at the dealership anyway.
Now I need to figure out if I can upgrade the firmware over wi-fi and if that will take care of the original problem.
