It is a Champion 100536 Snowblower. I bought it in 2021.
It has run well, but the drive mechanism started randomly disengaging and eventually pretty much failed.
By the drive mechanism I mean the two self-propelled wheels.
IT IS NOT AN ADJUSTMENT PROBLEM.
The drive disk is good.
It has a rudimentary differential that has failed. I bought and installed a new one.
The new and old ones have a timing mark. I cannot find any corresponding marks on the shaft that engages the differential.
The new one seems to work fine.
Any wild guesses what the timing mark is for? It is at the top right side of the pic, just below the little gear and shaft. The second pic is the old differential. I took it apart and didn't see any thing wrong, no metal or chips. It is an odd contraption and does not use planetary gears. The new one is slightly different, an updated model.
