Wanted to know if this is normal? I just noticed this last night. The screen on the edges look brighter than on the bottom and when the screen is on it seems normal. No changes with the colors.

Normal, its an edge lit LCD display. (all of the backlighting for the screen is contained around the edges). Not sure that backlit displays have made it to the OEM automotive world yet. You will see something similar on your home TV especially if you have an older LCD TV.

Ok. Was just curious about it.

As @Moparian wrote, this is an edge-lit display. Technically it's an LED-backlit LCD display with LEDs oriented along the edges that channel their light through "light tubes" to backlight the screen. This is better than a traditional fluorescent-backlit LCD display, but not quite as good as a full-field LED-backlit LCD, and WAY cheaper than an OLED display or microLED display.

Mine looks like it's more "even"....
