Rusting brakes

2021 Limited 1500 with 7700 miles. I noticed a little rust spot on one of my calipers at Christmas. Figured I would take care of it when I rotate my tires. Today I get into town and the inside of all 4 wheels have a reddish brown coating on the inside of the rim and spots on the outside. Looked like I drove 50 miles down a dry dirt road. Rest of the truck is clean. Took it to the carwash and sprayed the rims and tires out real good. Nothing was left when I got done. Drove 2 miles and it already started to coat my rims again. Anyone else experience this? I'm thinking that tab that holds the pads is rusting out.

That's probably rust coming off of the rotors and sticking to the water on your wheels and calipers. Your rotors will rust immediately after you wash your truck.

The rooters do rust almost immediatly but I have never scene it where the rust would run all over the wheels like that. Was the truck sitting for a while? If it was then you could have gotten a bigger buildup that came off the first time driving it.

I see it every time I wash my wife's car. If I dry the wheels first with a leaf blower, I can minimize it.
