About to place an order for a RetraxPRO XR ( the new one with the T-rail so I can add a rack for bikes etc. ) and trying to decide between the power or manual version. Any one able to tell why they chose one over the other and if they still would make the same choice - power or manual - if they were to make the choice again after having lived with it for some time? Also - any one with winter experience on these?

I have the manual. Super easy to roll up or down. I guess power would be good if the truck is lifted super high and you can't reach the handle.

Thanks! Or if I am a short, little bugger - haha!

Oh - one more - since I am in what can be snow country for long periods during the winter - how does it hold up against leaks and have you added some molds on the side of the tailgate?

I'm in CA and since I've had my truck it hasn't really rained yet. When I've washed my truck there has been no leaks. My truck is granite so I wouldn't notice any mold. But its been hot and dry here. I chose the retrax because of the rail design and drain tubes so I'm not concerned about leaks. I also have linex bedliner as well.

Thanks! Appreciate your input! Also - it is me misspelling and what I meant was this: Retrax Tailgate Gasket

Oh I see lol. That seems like a good idea. But if you get a lot of moisture then it would get trapped with no air getting in. I'm ok with dust getting in. I wouldn't want the musty smell of mold. Just my preference.

Yeah, I guess it is either this or that - and probably better living with dust than moist :) Thanks again for your input!
