I drove over a large branch, and right after that, the 2WD light went out. Now, no matter what I push (2WD, 4WD, Auto), it won’t engage or light up. The truck seems to be stuck in 4WD High because I can feel it grabbing when I turn. Underneath, on the driver’s side near the middle body mount, I found a large branch pinching the wiring harness. I also found and replaced a blown fuse, but the drive lights are still not working. After removing the protective tape from the wiring harness where the branch was wedged, I found three broken wires. Unfortunately, these wires are located behind the body mount, so I can’t reach them to splice a repair. If I could remove the body mount, I could move the harness and access the wires for repair.

Question: How can I remove just the center body mount to move the harness? Do I need to remove all the mount bolts on the driver’s side and loosen the passenger-side mounts to lift the cab, or is there an easier way?

If you want, I can also rewrite it to make it shorter and punchier for a forum post, which usually gets faster responses. Do you want me to do that?

You’ll need to remove all on the drivers side and loosen passenger. It is extremely easy to do.
How many on each side? Don't want to miss any. Do need to be concerned about breaking the bolts being only 5 years old? Didn't see anywhere to get PB blaster in.

They have loctite on them, so you’ll feel like they are snapping. I couldnt really get pb in there. After loosening that loctite, they were easy.

Each side has 4. 1 on the front where the towhooks mount, 2 for the cab and 1 for the bed.
