Yesterday I picked up a 2022 RAM Laramie. I am going to install a dashcam using the USB adapter at the rear view mirror. I have watched a couple of videos on how to take off the housing around the mirror, but mine is different than those I've seen in the videos. Does anyone have a video to match my mirror or at least pictures and instructions? If it makes a difference my truck does have forward collision warning and also auto headlight dimming. I think the camera for those items are at the mirror but I'm not sure. As you can see in the pics the area on the passenger side is wider.

Thanks
George M

Camera and radar are up there. The first time you take it off, is the most difficult. You have to remove the piece above the mirror. Then you can just pull it down real hard. The clips are really stuck on there.

I was able to route my wires cleanly without removing the cover. There was just enough play to hide the wires easily.

Followed a guide from here and hardwired to the fuse box under the steering wheel.

Thanks for the link but I want to power it from the mirror area. I have the adapter to do so.

So, using the lessons learned from the video I was able to get it removed fairly easily. The USB adapter went on very easily and now I have my dashcam connected. The hardest part was getting the housing aligned correctly to put back on. One thing I did differently was to use a plastic pry tool rather than just pulling down with force.

Hey folks. My mirror fell off my Ram 1500 while installing the dash cam. When I went to put it back on, it would not stay up. I inspected the back side of the mirror and discovered one of the prongs of the clip broken. Any ideas on where to get just the clip without having to purchase a mirror? I tried mopar.com, and a few other sites. Thank you.
