Recommend me a MP player/ recorder that I can download to a thumbdrive to use on my HK system in my new Ram Longhorn

What is a good MP3 player/recorder that I can use to download the files to a thumb drive to use in my HK system in my new Ram 1500 Longhorn. I have never used MP3 but I have a ton of CD's that I would love to download so that I can enjoy them in my truck. I presently have my Iphone and Sirrius radio but really would lke a better source. Thanks in advance for your recommendations and advice.

There are numerous ways to copy a CD to your computer. If on a PC, windows media player works great. You could use media player to copy them directly to a thumb drive if you wish. A tip. All CDs record at a different volume level when copying them to your computer. I copy them to the computer and then use a free program called MP3 Gain that ensures all the songs are recorded at the same volume level so you don't have to mess with volume control when playing back. After adjusting with MP3 Gain, I then copy them over to the thumb drive. I really like the way I can select a song, genre or artist from the thumb drive with voice commands .
