So I ordered decals for the "1500" - "HEMI" and "5.7L" on side of hood... Gloss white to match paint...

The 1500 was easy - but the inlays on the rest of the emblem was a major PITA!!! The small recessed space is impossible to set the decals.

Has anyone been successful in doing this? I'm taking the truck to a shop that does vinyl wrap and custom decals - to have them do it. It frustrates the hell out of me.

Also, has anyone had the emblems painted? How hard is it to remove the section?

a) where did you get the decals?
b) have you used a water/soap solution?
Spray the surface with soapy water.
That way the decal doesn't stick in place immediately. They can reposition if necessary.
It makes it possible to to squeegee out any wrinkles or bubbles.
The soap and water dries in a few minutes and the decal is firmly affixed.
Use 5 or 10% max liquid dish soap mixed with water, it doesn't really matter what kind of soap it is.
