I have not been on here in a few years but my 2020 rear window finally developed the crack frame and started to leak. I will say the truck only has 30000 on it and stays in the garage as I only use it to pull my boat. The point of my post is just to say I took it to my dealer and very impressed with their service. They had it for a day and a half. First they checked brake light and when all said and done told me yep needed a new window. They have one in stock and I go back Monday for installation and no charge. So far very impressed after hearing all the issues with this leak for years

good for you man. i wish there was some kind of standard that RAM held them to on this issue. i have and posted the letter from ram extending the warrantee on the glass but i still could not get them to honor it. i don't get it.

Interesting, I pointed out to my advisor that point that Ram extended the warranty and he was aware of it

Good for you. They are doing this out of the goodness of their heart? Or Stellantis is covering it under special warranty extension (some owners get this, some don't, it's unpredictable and has very little rhyme or reason). Maybe you don't know and don't care because you were told no charge. Inquiring minds want to know.

So I have a 2019 that was leaking and the dealership fixed it last november stating it was the 3rd brake light. No leaking for about 6 months and now mine is leaking again. I thought both the glass and the brake light were under the extended warranty via stellantis. I purchased the car out of state so going back to the direct dealer of purchase isn't as convenient. My local dealership is a complete **** show and couldn't/wouldn't re-seal the glass saying that it would break of they took it out. The warranty wouldn't cover replacement of glass, just the re-sealing.

Im about to just do the DIY fix and fill the top of the window with some Permatex Silicone and call it a day.

Having dealt with this off and on for the last few years my only advice is get medieval on the MF. Clean the gap the best you can with denatured alcohol, I used a small brush and worked a micro fiber cloth back and forth. Tape off everything but the gap around the frame. Use two part 3M flowable urethane and fill the gap until it just starts to run out. After a minute or two carefully pull off the tape. Have a can of gas and a book of matches ready for when it leaks again. For liability purposes I will not explain the next step.1000000756.jpg1000000757.jpg

Funny "weather resistant" is NOT waterproof. ^^^^
Aren't you looking for waterproof? Just asking for a neighbor.

That's a good dealership there, wish any of the 7 CDJR dealerships in my area were that good.

I'll be honest, when my 2019 finally develops the crack, even if my dealer would cover a replacement free of charge (they won't), I rather just go with the flowable urethane route myself.

It's simpler, easier, less invasive and likely a permeant solution.
