Good Morning All
Has anyone had issues with rear window leaks in the 5th gen ram? I noticed water leaking from the trim seam right below the overheard. It was a slow drip but in a rainy season, it would saturate a bath towel in a few hours. I talked to my dealership last summer when i first noticed it. There was a defect with the glass that was manufactured and installed in these years along with glass that was made for Ford, Chevy, and GMC. They all use the same group that had defects and a warranty was issued for repair. There was also an issue with the 3rd brake light failing as well as the sealant around it, which could also cause the leaks.
Fast forward to yesterday, my back headrest is soaked from dripping water again. It was "fixed" by the dealer last november and hadn't leaked since. Unfortunately, its leaking from the same spots it seems. Dealer tells me that they replaced and resealed the brake light but didn't do anything to the window. Stellantis warranty says they will cover resealing the glass, but not replacing the glass. Dealership tells me that they can't remove and reseal the glass without breaking it. So i'm basically stuck with a leaking window that is covered under a warranty, but at the same time not covered.
I'm tempted to just tape up around the seams of the window and fill it with silicone for an at home fix, but I want the thing fixed the right way if its a warrantied part for defect.
Anyone dealt with this issue? Ways to resolve it?
