Rear view mirror popped off.

Anyone else have this issue? My son was moving my rear view mirror and it popped off the ball. I couldn’t push it back on and the dealership service mgr couldn’t either. Car is under warranty and they are going to order a whole new unit - which is the tech pkg digital camera mirror. It’s hanging by the wires.

Mine gets moved all the time and has never done that . I’d try and push it back on as hard as I could since they ordered a new one anyway .

I pushed as hard as I could and was afraid of breaking the windshield. I think there must be a clip or something the tightens the cup around the ball. Oh well.
