Rear leg room

I can't find the reason why the rear leg room in the crew cabs in 2500/3500s is shorter than the 1500s? Even the Mega cab comes in approximately 2 inches shorter. Anyone know why this is?

Are you comparing a 5th gen 1500 to a 2500 based off the 4th gen or are you comparing it to the 4th gen 1500?

The HDs are still using the 4th gen body, while the 1500 is using the 5th gen body, which is significantly roomier.

The 5th gen CC's are bigger than the MC's, but as other have stated.....the "new" HD's are still running the older bodies.

Hence we've called the new HDs a "4.5 gen" truck...

The 5th gen 1500 crew cab is longer than the 4.5 gen 2500 crew cab but the 2500 Mega Cab is still a couple of inches longer.

The added "room" also comes from the seats being a little lower in the 5th gen. I'm not sure about the 2500s but there's no hump in the floor any more so that adds to the spacious feel too.
