Rear Fender Foam

Anyone remove the foam between the inner fender and fender on the rear? I know this is the root cause for top of the rear fender rotting out.

yeah I did this on my 3rd gen. my 4th gen had factory flares to hide the rust. I'd like to remove the foam on my new one. I dont have full rear well liners yet either.
