I opened my passenger side, rear door like any other day and then when I went to close it, the lock is stuck in the locked position. Thankfully, I’m at home and in my driveway but now I can’t secure my vehicle…

I didn’t slam the door so it’s not forced into its position hopefully.

I have the door mostly assembled thinking maybe something just came disconnected 🤷‍♂️ but I’m to the point where I’m at the interior panel and I can’t get it off without removing the glass. And I’m feeling like I’m hitting the place where I’m out of my depth.

Does anyone know a trick or away to manually cause the door to unlock so I can at least shut the door after reassembly? I’ve tried the simple version of just applying a little bit of pressure to the door lock while pulling the exterior or interior handle and neither will cause it to unlock.

The door does have power because the power windows / power locks / speaker all work.

My dealer can’t deal with it until Thursday, but I’m not going to leave it on their lot unsecured until then..IMG_4880.jpeg

In case anyone else has to take their inner door panel off…

You have to remove your window motor, and the speaker, reach inside the inner panel and hold the window up so you can view two screws through two small eyelets on the bottom of the panel. Both of those holes have little gray plastic or rubber plugs that you pop out to access the bolts. You undo those two bolts and push the window up and then tape the window in the up position.

After you get the window, taken care of there are two 7mm bolts behind the inner door panel where it connects to the bracket by the door handle. You can reach your hand behind the panel and fill them once you take them off the whole panel will come off.

I have no idea what caused this Lock to fail, but it seems to be functioning fine now and everything works like it shouldIMG_4889.png

If the door latch was tripped into the latched position which is what it appears to be just rotate the latch around to the opened position.

Once i got it all the way put it worked perfectly. I still have no idea wth happened but its back to function, so ill take my merry truckmas a smile

I had that happen to my 2011. All I did was take a screwdriver. stick it into the closed latch where the post would be. Had somone hit the main lock and unlock button. Then I pulled up on the handle and pushed the latch like I was opening if it was a closed door. It rotated into the open position at that point.
