Here's the issue I have.
Less the electric range divide the remaining milage by the 27gallons.
You Get 20 MPG.

I already get this with my Hemi V8 etouque and using CControl religiously cut down on heat with heated seats

Half the reason buying one of these is to cut down on cost of gas. In NJ with my 110 round trip commute heavy traffic I'll probably max out on the electric daily practicle as opposed to theoretical 140miles.

News is it first year will be a short run.

To note in article I get more pull with etV8 hemi than the new DT

So you want to decrease your fuel costs for your daily drive, but are only mathing the pure ICE fuel range without taking into account that 90% of your drive will be all electric. So if you can get 90 miles all electric, you are only burning 1 gallon of fuel on your drive, where as with current Hemi you are using almost 6 gallons. That seems like a decrease in fuel costs.

So you're saying you won't use any gas daily, or at least very little, and get a truck that has more than 60% more HP and 50% more torque, and it's comparable to your Hemi that will probably get 12-14MPG sitting in heavy traffic? Those of you that can average 20MPG with your V8's need to keep it forever. Interstate driving I get ~400 miles to a tank with my Hemi and 26 gallon tank. Even if I got 80% of the estimated Ramcharger range (550 miles) that's over a 35% increase in fuel efficiency.

I'm hoping against hope that the Ramcharger pans out, gets the first issues taken care of, and I can pick one up in 3 years or so. 140 miles electric covers 99% of my daily driving, and then you have gas to back you up on longer days, trips, or towing. Those last 3 things are where every other EV truck fails spectacularly.

End of the day, would you trade your V8 for a truck with more power, more range between stops, and less fuel cost overall for the loss of the V8 sound? Don't get me wrong, I love the sound of a good exhaust system, but I'm getting to the point in my life (I know, not everyone) where my daily doesn't need to wake the neighborhood. My neighbor across the street has a TRX and starts his truck every morning at 6:30 on the dot. Every. Single. Morning. I love the sound, but I don't work the same hours as him.
