Here's a good one or two.
I was riding around yesterday with my e torque.. Motor never shut off. Odd. Started fiddling with the settings. No change.
I wasn't wearing my seatbelt. ( save the chaff).. engine stop turns off if your seat belt is off. Strange
Then backing out of my garage the drivers door was not completely shut. When I put it in reverse, no go and it slaps on the e brake? What the heck.
Closed the door, now I can back out. I wonder what other strangeness is lurking. That nannys are live in the Ram.

Here's a hack for the "auto park" engagement when the door is open when starting motion. Put your seatbelt on and you can move the truck with the door open.

I back up a cargo trailer into tight spots and have to jump in and out of the truck to check clearance. I snap the seatbelt into it's connector while I'm out of the truck then sit on the belt. I can leave the door open and inch back, get in and out. I have the power steps and hate cycling them up and down a lot.

I am willing to bet this was a response to the people running over themselves with FCA vehicles. A consequence of one of the worst shifter designs of all times that the rotary knob fixed. However when cars start killing their owners with simple usage corporate America probably overreacts and asks the engineers for multiple solutions. As they make more vehicles with autonomous features I think I appreciate them also putting in systems to prevent the robots; err I mean cars, from not killing us.

Personally I enjoy the shifter knob as it eliminates the wasted space for the floor mount and an extra stick on the wheel. And while I agree it can make it a hassle to jump in and out of the vehicle, the seatbelts help your melon stay working as well as it did before a crash, and body parts stay where they supposed to be and not across the road. Personal choice versus social responsibility.

There is a also a hack (procedure) for disabling the seatbelt warning system. I prefer leaving it on.

buckle up
ignition run
unbuckle / buckle 3 times
ignition off

I have no idea if this defeats any features tied to seatbelt engagement. Perhaps someone will chime in.
