Ram Rev Delayed To 2026 Ramcharger Due 2025

Reading about over 50% of the already produced charger daytona's not being able to be charged one day after production with no solution, I think it's smoke and mirrors because they can't get the all electric platform to work. I'll take the Ramcharger, please make it already and release it or the reservations first 1/4 of 25.
 
That's good news, it's a more interesting product, has the advantage of being and EV without the disadvantages. Almost 700 mile range, 14,000 tow capacity, 0-60 in 4.4 seconds and is filled up with gasoline. Seems almost too good to be true.

But if you are worried about their full EVs, this should also be a concern, this is also a full EV but with an 3.6L gas generator to power it.

Another advantage of the Ramcharger is it has been said that you can just gas it up and never charge it if that's what you want to do.
 
I'm curious what the engine bay looks like in the Ramcharger setup compared to the same truck with just the 3.6L gas engine. Is there more empty space? Less?

I suppose the A/C etc... are powered by the batteries. So fewer belts coming off the engine?

I suspect they'll look very similar for the most part, just because it is a 3.6, though it makes sense that the belts won't drive the AC since this thing is a full EV and should power all those systems independent of a gas generator.

Here's a cropped image from Stellantis' website. Looks to me like the engine bay will look different, but every bit as packed with stuff:

I saw that picture online but am not enough of a gearhead to be able to envision it inside of an engine bay. The version I saw highlighted some of the components and showed that an electric motor was adjacent to the engine, so that obviously takes up some of the space. What is the silver tank in front of the engine for?

Imagine a bucket that can easily hold 5# of sand, now imagine that same bucket with 40# of sand in it.
 
I'm pretty excited about the soon(?) to be released 1500 Ramcharger. I had a little free time this afternoon, so I drove over to a nearby Dodge/Chrysler/RAM/Jeep dealer in Chamblee (Atlanta, GA) just to learn if they knew anything that isn't already available online. I asked the first three salesmen who walked over to me if there was any new info on the 2025 Ramcharger. The first guy had no idea what I was talking about. The second and third guys both thought I meant the new Charger. I had to explain to them what it is and how it is similar to a locomotive (except with a gas engine). One of the two said, "Oh, you're talking about the Etorque." [Groan..sigh!] I told them, "No. I just drove up in my '24 RAM 1500 Limited Etorque. I know what an Etorque is!" The first guy went to a back room to ask his boss what the hell I was talking about. After a minute, he returned to tell me they're not available yet. [DUH!]

Honestly, why is it that a guy from small town Oregon walks into a big city RAM dealership in Atlanta and knows WAY the hell more about the upcoming Ramcharger than THREE RAM/Chrysler/Jeep salesmen? [SMH]

At least I know where I'm not going to buy my next vehicle.

Next time go find the fleet manager. If you can't find a fleet manager at that dealership, go find a Ram Commercial dealer in your area. The people who sell to the commercial buyers are usually much more knowledgeable than the salespeople, and they can't get away with BS'ing their customers.

But beyond that, no one at the dealerships will know anything worthwhile about the upcoming Ramcharger. Check out reliable outfits like Motor Trend, TFL Truck, etc.
