Wow, I never thought they would put their stamp of approval on a plow for these.

I had looked at Fords prior to purchasing my Ram. The plow prep was, from what I can remember, $50. I think it was a spot on the firewall that you could pass a wire through.

What do you get for $195?

Kinda surprised that the straight hemi is excluded and that theres no upgrade to the ft coils.
I’d like the 220 amp alternator though.

Sounds like all the wiring is in place already, just bolt up your snow plow and connect it to the harness(assuming there is a standard connection for snow plow controls, I live in FL so I dont know squat about snow equipment lol).

What is included in the snow plow package is in the article but I can't cut and paste the information. Interesting that my 2019 owner's manual specifically states that you should not use a plow.

WARNING!
Snowplows and other aftermarket equipment should
not be added to the front end of your vehicle. The
airbag crash sensors may be affected by the change in
the front end structure. The airbags could deploy
unexpectedly or could fail to deploy during a collision
resulting in serious injury or death.
WARNING!
Attaching a snowplow to this vehicle could adversely
affect performance of the airbag system in a collision.
Do not expect that the airbag will perform as described
earlier in this manual.
CAUTION!
Using this vehicle for snowplow applications can
cause damage to the vehicle.

What changed?

What changed?
They deleted the active grill shutters and likely either relocated or recalibrated the airbag sensors to work with the plow.

Wish they had done that from the start. Gives people a reason to upgrade. Was that part of a game plan by FCA?

I shot this two years ago to the date of the release...

People have been running plows on their 2019 5th Gens, seemingly without issue. I'm guessing RAM didn't validate the collision sensors for use with a plow, so warned everyone not to use one for liability reasons.
