Hey everyone so I’ve had issues with my 2022 ram 1500 sport E torque, in 2024 my truck died on the road well driving came to a complete stop and could not turn on had to jump it to get it moved off the road the dealer looked at it made some poor excuse as to why it happen said the 12v battery was crap and relaxed it now I’m well out of warranty and now again same thing happen was driving in a neighborhood lucky but came to a stop at a stop sign and the truck died again called CAA and was going to get it towed but had to boost it to get it loaded on the truck the started the truck again and I was idle with the truck at 14v for a bit so I was comfortable driving it home now it’s on charge so I can hopefully make it to work tomorrow but I’m wondering if anyone’s had this issue or is ram has a solution or if it’s just a problem the consumer as to deal with. Any info is appreciated.

I'm kinda late seeing this but yes, it is comon for etorques to eat batteries. The battery will often test as being OK but they are not.
There are several other threads on this if you look around.
I have not heard of a definite fix for this.

I consider 2 years an expected life for the 12V battery. Some go 4 or even 6 years (very rarely more), but I expect only 2.

When failing or failed, slower cranking or failure to crank are common symptoms, and successful jump-starting is another clue. I then get it load tested and replace if not 100%. Voltage measurements may prove a battery is bad, but can not prove it is good. A load test is the best test of a battery.

What I do not expect from a bad battery is for the vehicle to just die while driving, this usually points to a different problem. This could be as simple as a loose or dirty battery connection which could make a battery look like it is not charging (because it isn't). It could also be a charging component or an unrelated system. More digging required then.

Along with having the main 12v battery tested I would have the etorque 48v battery module checked. The main 12v battery is charged by this module, as there is no traditional alternator on your truck.

I definitely would not call it a "common" problem. The factory battery being a cheap battery is far more common, along with the fact that even when turned off, these trucks are power hungry.
