Let me preface this by saying I know computers and home theater I don't know much about vehicles, I spent more time doing nefarious stuff growing up than paying attention to my dad trying to teach me about working on vehicles. So I just bought my first brand new vehicle at the ripe old age of 46 and I have some questions that I can't seem to find the answers. So hoping someone here might be able to shed some light. I have done Google searching and nothing says definitively yes this is what it means or no.

So I bought a 2024 Ram 1500 Tradesman Quad cab with the Warlock package. With the Warlock package one of the options available was the 9 speaker system which my truck does not have, now does that mean that it should have everything in place to be able to switch to a 9 speaker system via AlphaOBD and installing the necessary hardware? The base system sounds like absolute garbage and I am trying to figure out the best place to start with improving it.

The other question is in the build sheet it says Seat Parts Module II which according to Google means it should have the module for heated and or ventilated seats or memory seats so I might be able to add them? The dealer here in Manitoba wants something like $330 per seat to add heated seats and my wife really wants heated seats but I don't want to spend $660 or more getting them installed or am I being an idiot and should let the dealership install them?

I have a 2023 Warlock, which I believe is virtually identical to the 2024. Not sure about the upgrades you are talking about but I did look into two for myself- the trailer brake control module and door lock buttons. I understand you can buy the parts and they will more or less plug in but the computer will need to be reflashed to recognize them and allow them to work. The reprogramming is the part that the dealer charges an exorbitant fee for (though I understand you can also buy an app that may allow you to do it yourself). In the end, I just installed an aftermarket brake controller. The door locks are my biggest complaint but a year and half later, I am still living with them. What is the point of a keyless ignition if you need to fish the key out of your pocket to open the door? Unlock buttons on the door need to be standard equipment.

So our 2024 is a Tradesman with the Warlock package. Even if we could add proximity unlock that would be great. Right now I am trying to figure out if the seats are prewired or not. I own AlphaOBD already had to get it when we deleted the air suspension in our 2016 EcoDiesel.

You might want to be more specific when talking about your truck. Ram made a Warlock model from 2019 thru 2024 which was based on the 4th gen (DS) chassis. At some point during production Ram started offering a Warlock package for the Tradesman model of the 5th gen Ram 1500 (DT). It appears you have the latter. Calling your truck a Warlock instead of a Tradesman only serves to confuse people. Ram certainly hasn't helped with clarifying anything since starting with the 2025 models you can now get a 5th gen Warlock model LOL.

I realize that, that is why I put 2024 Ram Tradesman with Warlock package.

Also just checked and I don't have to worry about ANC module at all, just not sure if speakers or amp first since I have to do it in stages. I wish I knew more or didn't live in a small town with no places to actually listen to car speakers anymore.

Yes, I saw that. My post was actually in response to jse2, which is why I quoted his post.
My brain was in OMG I have read too much today mode. Reading all the threads about stereo upgrades and heated seats has made my brain mushy.

I'm not familiar w/ the Warlock package, but... if you didn't get the 9 speaker package, you only have the 6 speaker "base" stereo. So, AlphaOBD won't do anything for the stereo. You would need to add anything you want to upgrade (amps, speakers, etc). As you've seen, there is a TON of information on here about it, you can get as crazy as you want to with stereo upgrades, depending on your budget and patience level. Haha

Most everyone is talking about the stereo but having lived in mid-Alberta, Id say that its equally important for a married man (who wants to stay married) to not be cheap and get wifey her heated seats. Just sayin’…
Wife flew in from Finland for the holidays.
She jumped in to the truck at the airport and immediately hit the heated seat switch.

Mine wont even sit in it unless I go out first and turn them on. To be fair, cloth wouldn't be so cold yet it doesn't warm up either.

I mean, if I know she's going to be getting in I'll turn on the heated seat before picking her up. But it's not like she won't get in the vehicle unless her seat is already turned on.

I just get "that look" which can wither redwood trees in less than 2 seconds...
