Hey all—apologies for the drive-by joining-and-asking, but I’m in a bit of a time crunch.

Long story short, my 2013 F150 is on the last of its last legs and I need to find a replacement ASAP. Sooner than I’d anticipated. I hadn’t looked at Ram at all, but came across a 2019 Big Horn, 5.7, with 88,xxx miles for $26,8. Carfax is clean, it’s been serviced at the same dealer it’s being sold at. It’s also lifted a bit, which I’m a little iffy on. Is there anything I should be aware of? Anything to look for? Should I run like hell the other way? Thanks a ton for your expertise!

I have a 2019 limited and here's what I would look for. Check the ac if you can, most from that year did not blow cold enough but there are a couple easy fixes if you search this site. Also listen for manifold leaks, a common problem. I recently replaced my passenger side under extended Mopar warranty. Mine has been mostly trouble free, just about to hit 70k.

Also if it has a lift check upper control arm angle and see if you can determine what lift previous owner went with.

I bought my 19 limited 3 years ago with 70k miles and 4 previous owners. It’s had its issues but I’m glad I bought an extended warranty through who I financed the truck with.

Also look to see if car fax shows the rear window being replaced ( common issue with these to leak and get replaced) I would also pay attention to service intervals and what work was done I.e. spark plugs, fluids like front and rear differential and trans.

if it's e-torque pass on it. other than that just make sure it has what you want option wise. i have posted this before buying it optioned the way you want it is better than adding those options, i used carfax as a search engine it works great and has good filters. i just used it to locate my truck 3 weeks ago and ended up going 100 miles away to get the truck i wanted. that's the 4th time i found a vehicle that way. that being said 4wd crew cab with those miles ia about market average in my area. i have 2 friends that have hemi's with over 200k on them the only problem they had was the exhaust manifold. if you like it go for it

Thanks for the advice fellas. Extremely helpful. It has all the options I want, on paper it looks great. I just want to make sure it's something I can depend on for awhile (I tend to drive my trucks until the wheels fall off--in the case of my F150, almost literally.) I'm set to go drive the Ram tomorrow morning so we'll see from there. I'm taking a look at a Nissan Titan this afternoon, so I have something to compare the Ram to.

Make sure there is zero evidence of the rear window leaking. Make them pull the rear seat back to see the rf hub and if there is any evidence of the hub getting wet make them replace the window, the hub & the center rear brake light. If you don't confirm these items you will be sad.

unfortunately a ram without a rear window leak is a unicorn. it's not a matter of if it's gonna leak but when. i just got my 3 1.5 oz tubes of flowable silicone and butyl rubber cord to make a gasket for the brake light that won't leak while i'm in there i'll seal the shark fin and change the cargo/brake light to led's. all came in the mail today. my window don't leak and i intend to keep it that way. that window is not just a ram thing ford and gm also have that issue.

At that age/mileage id look for excessive rust on the undercarriage and suspension components. It certainly wont be clean but if its already flaking and falling apart then its just a problem youll have to address sooner.
