Powered Sub question

I apologize as I am a little confused from some previous posts regarding aftermarket sound systems... I have a JBL Basspro SL (Powered sub combo) and my question is, aside from traditional wiring do I need additional components to make it works with the factory 6 speaker head unit (8.4")? There are controls on the unit but if i set them and leave it do I really need anything else? Thanks in advance!

How are you getting a signal to the unit?

I was told you can tap into the factory head unit but I am not sure. I was planning on taking to a local car audio shop but wanted to know what I should expect.

Just use the PAC unit for Dodge /Chrysler vehicles. It's a couple hundred bucks but will make your life so much easier and not screw up anything on the install. I would avoid speaker level inputs.
