i have these exact factory wheels on Laramie. I personally think the wheel design isn’t bad looking.. though i am not a fan of chrome Lol. Should i get them painted/powdercoated black? what do you you folks think? how much should it approximately cost me in order to do so?
(i am not open to plasti dipping them)

if you do it i’d love to see the finished product. i have the same wheels and considering the same thing as well as the tow hooks

I got a quote in maryland for painting my ‘22’s at $1200 for hypersilver (which is the most labor intensive wheel paint). I’d rather powdercoat, but I’m a little worried about what a tire machine will do to them if I make a mistake when mounting the tire. Mounting on a powdercoated wheel is something I’ve never done.

I've powder coated several wheels over the years, and never had issues with tire shops. If done right it should be more scratch resistant than paint.

The bigger concern would be I think those chrome inserts are plastic and won't go in an oven.

Depends on your area, but my friend got his wheels powder coated years ago at a local shop. He charged $50/wheel. Had to get the tires removed and replaced elsewhere, but all in it was like $450 including dismounting/re-mounting the tires. No scratches/issues from new tires, and when you clean them the coating looks brand new. Been about 5 years now.

I agree with Belvedere about the chrome inserts being an issue. We had to remove the center caps out of his wheels because they were plastic, and we just painted them black.

Yep stick with paint in this case.
