I removed the bed of a 2019 ram 3500 dually longhorn edition and now I'm having serious issues! Power running boards, the 12 in center display, the front windows and the door locks are no longer working! I've retraced all steps I took and can not figure out for the life of me what has happened. The bed was removed to install a utility bed on the truck and nothing was cut or damaged in the process. All fuses have been checked and nothing seems wrong. I've done this on a 18 model f350 inthe past and had a similar problem. The dealership said the circuit had to be completed to restore the functions on it but my local dodge dealership is being absolutely no help at all. I need any help I can get! Thanks!

do you still have the factory tail lights & plate lights pluged in ? may be something to complete the circuit like you said. no relays mounted to the bottom side of the bed? my gmc has all kinds of eletronics mounted to the bottom of the bed also sensors in the bumper

Factory lights arent hooked up but I have checked the plugs that run to both sides and still have power those. I also pulled harness for the rear sensors from the bed and plugged it back in and it didnt fix it either. When I pulled that harness from the bumper I looked all over the bed for any kind of relays I may have overlooked and found nothing. The only thing that isnt currently plugged back in is the tailgate. When this happened to the Ford some months ago the dealer added a box to the tailgate plug but the dodge dealer seems to have no idea what I'm talking about and has never heard of this issue.

My Rams all came with a terminator for the tailgate wiring, in case you'd like to drive without the tailgate. Those are 1500's though, so 3500 may be different.

some makes sense bulb outages & with the tail lights not hooked up & tail gate sensor unpluged it may be messing with the computer. i know its a pain but try pluging everything back in then you will have to plug in to the obd port to get all the codes cleared out to see if that worked

Make sure you have the ground wires hooked up that used to be from the bed.

Yeah I loosened my bed up and slid it back about 12-14” and I remember probably 3-4 of those ground locations I had to remove .

just remember hooking everything back up may not solve the problem instantly you will have to get all the codes cleared also

If you disconnected or drained the battery, it will take a while for everything to reset and start working again. My battery dies on my limited and everything reset but air ride and had to pull fuse and reset it.

Not saying it’s your problem but you’d be amazed how often grounds missing screw things up even if it doesn’t seem like they’re needed.

This would be my guess as well. 'Grounds' in a vehicle circuit don't have the same meaning as a safety Ground as in a home circuit. They're not optional...vehicle circuit 'Grounds' would be better served by the term 'common point,' and they are usually needed to complete the circle/circuit. SOMEWHERE, you've broken a (or multiple) circuits.

So I solved the problem. Turns out theres two flat wide plugs running towards to the back of the chassis one connects from the passenger side to the driver and one runs directly to the tailgate. Somehow in the midst of hooking all the wires back up I plugged the wrong one back in and it caused all the issues. Once I swapped it with the other plug it fixed all the issues. Thanks for the replies to the thread.
This is what I was working on so theres no real way I could've put the bed back on and re tried the process.

We build these weekly and unfortunately with these new trucks being full of electronics it becomes super frustrating trying to find the electrical mistake when one happens. Again i do appreciate all feedback it gave me several ideas on what I needed to look back over.
