I was adding some windshield washer fluid and happened to notice that the upper rad hose is partially collapsed, about 25% (when engine is off).
After starting it, the collapsed portion dropped by about half yet there's still a visible indentation.
1- Issue to be concerned about?
2- Is that a warranty item?

Truck shows no temperature problems and heat works just fine on these colder mornings.

Low coolant. There's air in the system, when the engine cools the coolant and the air pocket contract creating a vacuum and collapsing the hose

Hmmm, coolant level seems fine. I'll get it checked by dealer next oil change which is in a couple weeks.
Never had a vehicle with a collapsed hose before - your explanation seems accurate though.
Radiator was filled completely, the coolant reservoir was impossible to see down into.
I did pour a liter of water down it and it sounded "low".

I will swing by dealer parts and get a gallon. Add then monitor.

You Tube to the rescue! Who would have thought there was a white dipstick under the yellow cover?
That thing must be like 15" long...
Even after putting in a liter of water, I was on the bottom hole below the minimum mark...

More like the pressure cap isn't allowing the fluid to be sucked back in from reservoir when cooking down

Even if reservoir was empty, you still shouldn't have a collapsed upper hose. That means there is vacuum in the system. Can only be caused by the cap being bad, or the line from the reservoir is clogged preventing fluid from being sucked back in when cooling

Bought a gallon, expected to be raped on price by dealer but it was only $26.
Maybe a "goodby Carlos" sale? 🤣

Wait! there's a dipstick?

Under the yellow w/w flap.

Correction on coolant price. $31.78
