2019 Ram 1500 with Parkview Backup Camera. I need to connect a Trailer Camera into the Camera connections below the tailgate so it will display on uconnect 8.4 display. All new trucks get an adapter with dummy connectons to protect the connectors on the truck and the tailgate when the tailgate is completly removed. The camera connections are green Coaxial male and female. Tried to order the entire wire harness in the tailgate from the dealer but it came without the coaxial cable. I suspect it was for a 2018. The cable diagrams are very crude and do not show any detail of value. The mopar site still does not show the 2019 as a model year.

Any luck with this, would love to be able to have my trailer camera connect into my UConnect vs an additional 12v connection on my dash

Same desire here, following this thread. I was wondering if the older model CHMSL bed camera system could be modified to display a trailer camera video feed instead of the bed camera’s.

UPDATE: This nicely written thread describes how someone added CHMSL (bed cam, not a trailer cam) to an older model Ram, perhaps it will spark ideas.

Update - The results were dissapointing.
Found part numbers for the connectors but no supplier. They are Fakra "Z"
59Z163-000-A_59Z163-000/51 and 59Z176-C01-A_59Z163-000/51
These connectors are widly used in automotive audio, antenna, and video systems. I purchased complete cable assemblies off amazon and spliced in a RCA connector for the camera. Although not water resistant (ip67) they should work for testing and proof of concept.

Fakra Z Male to RCA Female Antenna Extension Cable RG174 25cm
Vehicle Antenna Adapter Pigtail Cable Fakra Z Female to Female RG174 Cable 2m

When a video signal from a camera is applied to the video coax back to the radio I get a blue screen and "video not available" or similar message. Since the "Rear Camera" has only one connection, the power is supplied down the coax similar to the power supplied to a sat dish. Also since the Radio sees "no current draw" to the camera, the video feed is disabled. This seems likley what is going on. So for now I will continue using a small 5" tft display directly wired into my trailer camera. Hope someone has better luck other than the very expensive UCONNECT LOCKPICK AIR HD V2 style solutions.

I would like to be able to add a front camera for tight parking spaces using this method.
