Oil temperature in EcoDiesel (ram 1500 2022)

I have RAM 1500 Rebel with 3.0 V6 EcoDiesel for about 2 mounths and I have already 10000 km total mileage.

While driving on highway with my camper (800 kilos) with constant speed 120 km/h I‘ve noticed that the engine oil temperature is 110 deg Celsius. While driving in town w/o trailer oil temp is higher then 102 deg Celsius. Is it OK or should I contact serviceman? Or maybe I run too fast?

Seems normal, I’ve seen 112-115 when towing heavy and really pushing the truck. Oil temp is usually higher than coolant temp for me, and transmission temp is always a few degrees below that.

I put nearly 75000km on my 2020 and close to 1/3 would have been towing 6000lb+. Never noticed the oil level drop between changes at a 10000km interval.

I know about the difference between oil and coolant temperatures🤒. I posted pic with oil temp.

In my previous cars with diesel engines (MB V-Class 2.2TDi, Audi Q7 3.0TDi etc) max oil temperature was 98C and max coolant temp was 95 deg C. That’s why I wonder if 110 deg C oil temp in 3.0 V6 EcoDiesel engine is OK while driving.

Yes the oil temp is fine.

110C is only 230F, that's nothing. Modern engines run hot and engine oil has come a long way.

I arrived yesterday from a trip to Newfoundland, 10,500 km, 6 week holiday, towing a 14 1/2 foot travel trailer.
Oil temp is always higher than the coolant, around 110 C, coolant around 100 C and transmission 85 C.
Towing mode was not needed with such a small trailer, my Rebel diesel was mostly in 8th gear.
I kept track of all the fuel consumption, hand calculations for the entire trip, mostly towing and all sorts of windy situations, and a fair amount of rain storms. I was amazed with all the mountains in Newfoundland Canada, snow near the peaks.
14 L/100 km or 20 mpg imperial gallon for the total trip. Almost $3,000 of fuel for the trip, the average was $2.10 L.
Added 14 litres of DEF at 4,750 km and another 14 L at 10,000.

I managed to achieve good fuel efficiency because of the airstream skirt that I designed and fabricated to fit between the truck and trailer. Made with 1” aluminum tubing and the mesh is from a trampoline, it has springs to allow the frame to open when turning or to access the tailgate or to make the trailer connections.

Oil above 100C is a feature. It'll boil off any moisture. Those temps are the sign of a well-designed and well-running engine lubrication temperature system.
