So, I've had my truck since new, worked out all the new model 2019 quirks and love my truck. BUT, my wife can no longer get up into it. She used to love riding in it, but now her arthritis no longer loves the ride nor even allows her to step up into the truck. I've been shopping for a new vehicle, but it hasn't easily provided an alternative. Sitting in the driveway recently, I wondered, could my truck be lowered enough to accommodate her newly shrunk frame and gentle bones? It would have to be at least 6 inches, I think, because of recent car shopping experiences. Any knowledge welcome!

sorry for what your wife's going through.
unfortunately i don't think there's any option to lower it by 6 inches without major modifications to be done.

you're better off buying a second vehicle for when she needs a ride. something like a regular sedan.

Look at theAMP Research XL steps...lowest electric

Vic,
Sorry your wife is having those issues. Both my mother and my mother-in-law have mobility issues. I recently got the Tungsten and it has the running boards someone else mentioned that helped a lot. My mother is able to get in and out of the vehicle with no issues just using the running boards. The truck also has an entry mode where it adjusts the ride height extremely low to the ground and moves the seats back a bit to make getting in and out even easier. I know first hand this is built into the Tungsten trim level, I believe it is also available on the Limited models as well. If you are looking at new vehicles, it may be worth it to look at the higher end trim levels to accommodate your wife.
