I have a 2019 3500 diesel. When I first got it I had 3 times when the truck was dead of any electrical voltage. No dash lights nothing. I opened the hood and when I pulled the red plastic protector off of the positive battery post it would come back to life. Twice this worked. Then the third time I had to hook up jump wires to it then it started right up. My dealer said they had had some bolts on the battery wires on the terminals not tight. They took all of the cables off of. The power strip and sanded them and reinstalled them. All was well for 6 months. This weekend on a trip to Texas to my father in laws funeral we got stranded just outside of the Hotel parking lot. No power anywhere. We tried jumping the battery removed both ground cables from the batteries for 15 mins then reattached them. Went inside to the bcm battery control Module and unplugged all 3 harnesses and reinstalled them still nothing. Called Chrysler care they said they would be out in 90 minutes. 3 hours later in the rain they still had not shown up. Called a tow truck and hauled it to the dealership. The mechanic said it really kicked his butt. He had voltage at the battery and the cable to the fuse box but no amperage to the fuse box not enough to light a light bulb. He discovered that the battery cable from the battery to the fuse box had not been crimped tight enough Causing it to ark and burn which shorted out a third of the fuses in the box. They replaced the cable and the fuse box 1200.00 and I was back on the road. Can’t help but think this was the problem all along.
