Hello from the Socialist Republic of California... Auburn actually.
My name is Dave
Just bought my first Ram truck... Big Horn/Lone Star yesterday. Nice truck. I've always been a get it fully loaded guy only I just retired and thought I'd be sensible for once in my life.
I've owned four, count um four, F250s ( I call them FScrew 50s) crew cabs, diesels since 1996... all where completely unreliable. Good trucks if you don't mind getting to know your AAA drivers on a first name basis.
The first one was purchased off my lease by my best friend; shortly there after it had MAJOR amounts of work done... that was before the fool rolled it! Ford did a collateral exchange on my 99 lease for a 2000... which was even worse.
I traded that POS in on an 05. Things escalated quickly from there with that thing. That 05 6.0 was unbearable and had to change directions... I had the engine pulled/cab removed 4 or 5 times... I lost track!
So I finally unwedged my head from my back side and went with this 5.7. Hopefully this Ram will be the last truck I purchase.
It remains to be seen if this Ram will be a great truck or not... I know it certainly can't be any worse than a Ford. I should add I've owner two Rangers and they were solid vehicles with zero problems.
Anyway I have been at this site for several days and have gathered some helpful information... so thank you guys for your involvement on this forum.
