I have had a 2016 Eco Diesel (with lots of problems) with 180k miles, so yes I drive it. It's the Laramie 4x4. I am considering replacing it with a 2018 sport 4x4 or a 2019 Laramie with the Hemi, I would like to stay under $35k. What I love about my 2016 is the comfort of the seats. I am 6'3 and love the large seats. I rented a 2019 Laramie and noticed the seats are not as comfortable or as high off the ground for us taller guys. I just wanted to pick your brains and see what all of your thoughts are on those issues and any others you may recommend or not recommend. Thanks in advance!

I'm 6' 7" 240 lbs & the 5th Gen Ram is the most comfortable vehicle I've ever been in. I got the 5 seat configuration with center counsel. I had a 2013 Ram with the front bench seat b4. I noticed the 5th gen has more width up front than the 4th gen. I sat in a 2013 Ram with center counsel & it felt tight width wise. It seems the center counsel in these 5th gens is just a nicer fit for tall people. If u watch the reviews the seats do sit slightly lower than previous generation to make entering & exiting the truck easier. I barely notice it. The truck itself sits at the same height. The seats themselves are really nice. Lots of padding & very comfortable for long drives.

Welcome to the forum aambrus1. You should be able to find a nice truck in that price range. I'm in agreement with BigD about the comfort of the 5th gens. My 2020 Laramie is the most comfortable truck I've owned. The only truck that's more comfortable to me is my girlfriend's 2020 Limited. Mostly because hers is full leather and just feels more luxurious. I've owned two 4th gen Rams. One was a 2015 Tradesman EcoDiesel and the other was a 2017 Rebel Hemi. The Rebel had the center console and the Tradesman had the fold down armrest. I'm 6' 1" for reference. You say you've sat in a 2019 Laramie and weren't happy. Did you adjust the seat height at all? Pretty sure all Laramie's have power height adjustment.

Welcome , I had a 2015 Tradesman with the bench seat and a 2016 Rebel with the centre console now I have the 2019 Rebel and I find the 2019 more comfortable , I’m 6’2” .

I looked at 2 dealers (Dennis Dillon and Kville) and could not find a new 0 mile 2019 Laramie in any combination of features/drivetrains advertised under $35K. Plenty of Big Horns but not Laramies.

I went from a 14 Sport with leather trimmed (cloth center section) seats to a 19 Laramie Level 2 with full leather heated/ventilated seats. I will say the 14 seemed to be a bit softer but as far as total comfort and overall height the Laramie seats fit me well. I'm 6'3" 220, 77 years old and look forward to driving the truck. The new truck has better lumbar adjustment and the passenger also gets those adjustments which makes my wife happy as the 14 was manual on her side.
The most time I've put on the new one is 3 hours at one time but it works for me so far.
My experience with the models under my 14 Sport had way less seating comfort than the Sport. You could have rented the base Laramie, so try out a Level 1/2 truck and see if it makes a difference.
