Greetings from Cleveland Ohio. I own a 2019 1500 Bighorn / Lonestar 5.7L Club cab 4 x 4 that I leased new and purchased when the lease ended after 3 years. The vehicle has been awesome up until recently and has 69k on the clock. Not my first Ram, I also owned a 2010 Laramie with just about every option and ran that to 75k miles until electrical issues kept popping up. Fortunately I had an extended warranty on that one. I'm also into old mopars. I completely restored a 70 road runner taking off every nut and bolt, no longer have it. I am currently working on a 73 Power Wagon Adventurer SE with a 400 big block which I'm just going to mechanically restore because it has great patina and is 99% rust free.
I'd like to hang on to my 2019 for a while since it's been a great vehicle and I'm coming up on retirement.
My 2019 has been absolutely trouble free until the battery died, which isn't the worst thing but the suddenness of it was almost very problematic. I was in the middle of nowhere South Dakota on a Sunday and fortunately able to get a replacement at a truck stop that had six batteries on the shelf and one of them fit my truck. Since I swapped the battery I have this damn airbag sensor light on now that won't go away. I've disconnected the battery a few times and let is sit for an hour or so but the light remains on. I have an appt with the dealer to check it out...with a $160 diagnostic fee.
About a month ago I started hearing the cold start up tick from the exhaust manifolds and the dealer is going to diagnose that...for an additional $160 diagnostic fee.
Looking forward to learning to what I can and cannot do on my own with this vehicle through this forum as far as repairs go. Thanks and Happy New Year.
