Was at the dealership and took a new bighorn for a ride, not really planning on purchasing any time soon, but ended up really liking the truck, told the salesman thanks for his time and went on my way. Couple days later he asked me what I thought and I said it was nice but would like to sell my truck outright first, before purchasing, he asked for my trade info (2009 crew cab Silverado with 91k), told me they would give me $13,500 I said thanks but would try to sell it outright, was hoping to get $15500 for it, he came back and said if they would come up to 15500 would I purchase, but also said the truck I looked at was sold but he gave me one equipped exactly like the other one minus the color (granite ) that I was looking for, told him I was set on the Granite color too. Later comes back and says the truck I originally looked at didn’t sell but it was taken and had the mopar level put on with mopar 20 inch wheels and 33” duratracs on along with a spray in bed liner, he told me that it was 6k more after all the accessories, I told him I wouldn’t go any more than $2000 above what he originally quoted me for the truck, haven’t heard back but didn’t know if that was realistic or not. I really like the stock truck but usually level after a while and I have 33 in duratrac on my current truck and that is what I would go with on a new one. Is it best just to move on and find a stock one, or try to make a deal on one right off the lot with the level and wheels?

Personally, I believe you made a fair offer and wouldn't pay their HUGE markup. If they won't take your offer, I would move on.

Yeah I kind of feel the same way, kind of annoyed they modified it right after looking at it, I didn’t let him know I was ready to commit right away before doing the modifications.

I am sure they can find something if I really want to pursue it, at least I don’t have to be in a hurry and anything I get over 15500 for my truck will be a bonus.

The REAL question is, "CAN you move on"? After "driving it and being this close to owning it??!!" If the answer is YES, then you DEFINITELY should, since you weren't really "READY" to purchase to begin with, in a couple of months time (if not sooner) you may be saying i didn't need this expense right now, and regret purchasing early....

The bump of 2000 for your trade is a good bump, but did that "reduce your out the door price by 2 grand" or had you not gotten that far yet? Sometimes they bump trade but increase front end price, its always good to get that FIRST so you know if any discounts they offer are "actually lowering the price"....

Now as for your offer of 2 grand for their inflated 6 grand aftermarket add ons, EVEN if they met your price, you're still paying additional 2 grand for THEIR truck with options you prolly could care less about and could easily forego... (When the dust settles, if your anything like me, these things come back to haunt me... : )

My advice, (and i have a 2019 Big Horn with Level 2 equipment group and after i drove it i was l HAD to have it, where do i sign? ??!!) If you don't feel THAT way, its better to wait till you are READY, and definitely don't purchase ANY extra equipmentthat you don't want..

But if this truck has made you feel like absolutely want one NOW, don't buy his, there are soooo many Big Horn / Lonestars out there, your selection is nearly unlimited at a price you will feel GREAT about and not second guess yourself in future....

One last piece of advice, definitely get the Level 2 equipment group, (the $1100 -1300 difference in all the EXTRA options between the TWO groups is soooooo worth it : ) AND if your going to pay 2000 extra, throw it on something that REALLY would increase the truck's value, like LED Headlight/Tailight Pkg AND a Uconnect system that ALLOWS you to do functions with your phone.

The basic Uconnect 8.4 does NOT, a lot of us here were railroaded by thinking we had that ability, but the basic 4C radio's equipped in Big Horns can ONLY do that if the radio says 4c WITH NAV, and both the above options increase the "wowabilty factor"....a sprayed in bedliner and wheel tire pkg you can do down the road if you want to at a much cheaper cost...Also, its a lot of fun deciding which wheels / tires YOU want....

I had them give me the OTD price prior to mentioning my trade in and then after getting trade in value they gave me a me OTD proce and it was basically 15.5 off what they profanely gave me.

It was a big horn, sport appearance, with level 2. ORP, 3.92, non e torque, was non nav and after reading that you need it to use phone functions to start truck I was kind of on the fence

Make sure its not the Non-BSG bighorn package 2. If it is, you lose the 400W inverter and a whole lot of USB plugs. Also, avoid tow package like the plague since you basically pay 400 dollars for the privilege of trading $1K stock mirrors for some non-power folding, non-heated, non dimming, over magnified junk ones.

Another difference to note between non nav and nav 8.4C is that the nav ones get glossy black trim inside, the non navs have matte black trim. Not a huge deal, but thats an easy way to tell the 2 apart.

my wife and i both have 2019 Laramies ... her's is level 2 mine is level 1 ... i used the build sheets for both to put together a comparison of the 2 trks..... here it is ..

IF they are a good dealer they should be able to do a dealer trade and still give you the same price. My dealer has done that several times for me. I have had my current Ram since 12-11-2018 and most details are in my signature--but not the details of the tires-Nexen and I didn't notice that till I purchased it. It had 8 miles on it when I purchased it and the truck had set at the dealer since 5-29-2018. It was vibrating badly so I took it in for to have them check the balance on all tires. They said they were all out of balance and did a road force balance and that made it worse. I took it back again and they said there was one tire bad now and they were going to replace it. I went to get it and they didn't have it after telling me it would be there at a very early time in the morning and wanted me there early so I get there and the tire wasn't there. I decided enough was enough and had them put on 4 Michelin's Defenders and that took care of the horrible "bounce" at 73 MPH and most of the vibration at any speed. My dealer paid for part of the tires but I am still out 600 dollars for a vehicle that had about 650 miles on it when I replaced the tires. I have filed a case with FCA but not holding my breath I will get recompensed. Detroit should know the old saying, "the proof is when the rubber meets the road" so they should put better rubber on vehicle that MSRP was $49500 in my thinking. I do like the LED lights, the Blind Spot with Cross-Path and Trailer Detection. The 9 speakers and 33 gallon tank and E-Locker rear axle I could have lived without and would have preferred the 3:92 with limited slip but it doing fine as is and I always drive in "auto 4Wh drive". Level 2 was a necessity for me.

Only advice I have for you is to make sure it has everything you want on it. Mine came equipped with everything I wanted minus the trailer brake controller but I will be adding that myself and having it programmed. I don't have the NAV radio but the remote start works well enough for me and it sits in a heated garage when not used anyway. Also, I'd never use the navigation function as I like to use the CarPlay apps, specifically Waze.

If I had to pick one thing I wish my would have came with, it's the 33 gallon fuel tank. Once I start towing with it I am sure I will wish I had it. Although I came from a 2500 Suburban with the 8.1L, and while it had a 37 gallon tank, I get about the same total miles out of the Ram with the smaller tank.

The dealer finally got back to me and sent me another truck that had everything the other truck had but it was in black and not the Granite. I was gonna say that I think the other truck with the mods is worth $2500 over what was quoted to me (in my eyes any way), otherwise I will just wait for a while until somthing on a lot comes up that meets my needs. My hope is that since it is the end of the month they will want to move it.

The only reason I would really want the nav would be for phone functionality but I can live without that, the 33 gal fuel tank would be nice too, but I have to draw the line somewhere.
Maybe I can keep looking and come across a Larmie that is a demo for the price I am looking for.

The only opinion that really matters is yours. If you can get the other truck (in the great color choice of Granite, just a bit biased) at a price you'll be happy with, I say go for it. Just know what you are willing to accept so you have no regrets. Good luck and keep us posted.
