My 5.7L Laramie has developed a whirring gear noise in the front drive training. I have tried the following:
-changed both diff fluid
-changed transfer case fluid
-replaced rotors/pads
- replaced front hub/bearing assy's

It seems do def be coming from the font axle assembly somewhere. It's most noticeable upon deceleration at a stop sign or traffic light. I could have sworn it was the bearings going bad, but those are now brand new. Any guesses what could be making this noise in the front axle assembly? If you've ever driven an ATV with a CVT drive-train, it sounds almost the same as when you slow down and the engine braking kicks in. However the RAM shoudn't be making a noise like that.

I'm stumped!

Not many things left, could be a CV joint going bad or the splines in a half shaft, beyond those, front differential?
