My tailgate damper failed today... SLAM!

Opened my tailgate today like i always do and ..... BOOM! my tailgate slammed so hard I was sure there was some form of damage. I have a 19' . Any of you experiencing this with your tailgate?

I haven't had any problems with mine yet and I use the tailgate a lot .

The damper may have popped off or the end is broken, it's just a little plastic socket on a steel ball
